Training Walks

£25 for 60 minutes (solo walks only)

Training walks combine exercise with practical support for everyday behaviour.

These sessions can help with:

  • Calm starts and exits from home
  • Loose lead walking
  • Focus around distractions
  • Building confidence outdoors
  • Reinforcing good everyday behaviour

A practical way to support your dog's training while making the most of their walk.

Just a quick note from Jo
At Jo’s Pet Services, your dog’s safety, comfort and wellbeing are my priority. For this reason, I do not use slip leads during walks.

Slip leads tighten under pressure and can place unnecessary strain on a dog’s neck and throat, particularly for dogs that pull, are anxious, reactive, small-breed, elderly or have respiratory sensitivities. I believe in using secure, humane equipment that supports calm, positive handling and low-stress walks e.g. Canny Collar.

I kindly ask owners to provide a well-fitted harness or flat collar for all walks and I am always happy to discuss suitable equipment to ensure your dog is comfortable, safe and secure in my care.

Limited Dog Walking Spaces Available
To give each client the best support, I only take on a small number of dogs at any one time.

What Being A Dog Walker Means To Me

One of the things I value most about being a professional dog walker is building positive, trusting relationships with both dogs and their owners. Clear expectations help ensure that every dog in my care is safe, happy and well looked after. With this in mind, I wanted to explain a few of the things I require from my clients, what my responsibilities are, and where those responsibilities begin and end.

Hot Weather Tip: Know Your Temperatures

Whenever I check the weather temperatures for the day, I always check the feels like NOT the actual. For example at noon tomorrow the actual temp will be 23º but it will feel like 27º. When I'm walking dogs, I 'MIGHT" (probably wouldn't) take a healthy dog out at 23º but I definitely WON'T at 27º.
