Hi, I'm Jo
I've always been passionate about caring for dogs and helping them to live happy and fulfilled lives.
With years of dog handling experience gained by living with my own dogs, I wanted to start a business that would help other owners with day-to-day care and lifelong training, while at the same time fulfilling my dream of working with dogs.
It took a long time, with life throwing in many twists and turns along the way, but more than two decades after attending my first dog training seminar in 1999, the opportunity presented itself. In 2021, as a responsible and ethical person, I re-qualified in dog and puppy training, behaviour, nutrition and other specialities and started my dog-centred business. In 2024, feeling I had valuable life experience to offer, I decided to branch out in an unusual direction and added pet bereavement counselling to my suite of services. Then in 2025, I took on the role of wedding chaperone.
You might say, I'm living the good life but I'd disagree. I'd say it's a great life!

When couples first enquire about my wedding dog chaperone service, one of the questions I occasionally get asked is:

For many couples, the answer is absolutely, and here’s why.

Starting dog training can feel a little daunting, especially if you've never worked with a trainer before. One of the questions I'm asked most often is, "What actually happens during the first session?"

One of the things I value most about being a professional dog walker is building positive, trusting relationships with both dogs and their owners. Clear expectations help ensure that every dog in my care is safe, happy and well looked after. With this in mind, I wanted to explain a few of the things I require from my clients, what my responsibilities are, and where those responsibilities begin and end.

As a dog lover, I completely understand why so many couples want their four-legged family members to be part of their wedding day. Our dogs aren't just pets – they're part of our lives, our memories and our families. So, when it comes to celebrating one of the biggest days of our lives, it makes perfect sense to want them there too.

Whenever I check the weather temperatures for the day, I always check the feels like NOT the actual. For example at noon tomorrow the actual temp will be 23º but it will feel like 27º. When I'm walking dogs, I 'MIGHT" (probably wouldn't) take a healthy dog out at 23º but I definitely WON'T at 27º.

As temperatures rise, many dog owners look forward to spending more time outdoors with their four-legged friends. However, hot weather can pose serious risks to dogs, making it essential to adjust your walking routine and understand the signs of heat-related illness.

Your wedding day is one of the most important moments of your life, and for many couples, it wouldn't feel complete without their beloved dog by their side. Whether your pup is walking down the aisle, posing for photos or simply attending as a special guest, proper preparation can help ensure they enjoy the celebration as much as you do.
